Lazlo, a man who lived in 1965 and was of Hungarian nationality, wrote several strange letters to Klara. He believed that hard work was more valuable than innate talent. He proclaimed that with good habits and directed practice, a child could become a genius.

Lazlo, in an attempt to test his ideas, wrote letters to Klara because he wanted her, as his wife, to be willing to accept the challenge of having children and teaching them in a particular way. She believed in providing children with proper instruction.
After a few years, they became parents. They had Susan, who at the age of 4 years and 6 months could defeat an adult. The middle child, Sofia, became the world champion at the age of 14. Judit, the youngest, surpassed them all; at the age of 5, she could already defeat her father.
This experiment demonstrates that the habits we learn in our culture are the ones we consider most attractive and natural in our environment, and they stay with us forever.
